Swedish Massage Diploma
Swedish massage is a popular type of massage around the world. that involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Swedish massage is designed specifically to enhance circulation and blood flow to the large muscle groups and there are numerous physical and mental benefits associated with the use of Swedish massage.
If you want to learn Swedish massage and add a new therapy to advance your existing skills then this is the course for you! This is a comprehensive massage course leading to a recognised qualification enabling you to work as a professional therapist. Your exam is included in the course and on successful completion your diploma will be issued free of charge.
During this course you will learn:
Part one of this course covers the history of massage, background, general benefits, contra indications, and the equipment and products that are needed. In addition, pre treatment procedures are dealt with and we discuss two methods of covering a client prior to and during a treatment.
Part two of this course briefly covers anatomy and physiology of the human body and its body systems as they relate to Swedish massage treatments. This part will also introduce anatomical terms that are commonly used by therapists.
Part three the Swedish massage movements are explained and how to utilize them in a treatment. We look at a description of general all purpose Swedish massage of each part of the body. In addition, there is a routine for a full body relaxation Swedish massage with full descriptions of sequences for each part of the body that can be adapted for any client that you may encounter.
The importance of intelligent touch cannot be overstated. A conceptual basis for intelligent touch through the value of therapist intent and presence is also presented in this course.
This course includes your exam – Your exam has approx. 25 questions including multiple choice and you will be expected to complete a minimum of 1000 word case study. The case study will help consolidate your learning and will be marked as part of your exam. You can also visit the Student Library which offers videos and practical tips that will be helpful to you during your studies. Once you have submitted your exam you will be notified of your results within 7 working days. On successful completion of your exam you will receive your diploma or certificate as an attachment for you to print off at home.
