If you are intending to work as a professional therapist then here are a few tips to ensure you get your career off to a great start.
Alternative & complimentary therapies, otherwise also known as alternative therapy, holistic therapy, including traditional holistic medicine are on the increase and becoming more popular as we now take more responsibility for our own well-being and health.
This has lead to an increase in demand for natural healers, counsellors and therapists. They tend to be self employed so there are a few tips to be aware of when setting up as a professional holistic therapist.
Recommendations - As a new therapist you will need clients. The best way to achieve this is by word of mouth, so if you have been practising on friends and family and now want to reach out to paying clients, get them to spread the word and recommend you to their own friends and work colleagues.
Get Registered as an approved accredited therapist - There are many therapists out there so you will need to stand out from the crowd and by showing that you are on a register of approved therapists can greatly enhance your credibility. Clients are more likely to have confidence in a therapist whom belongs to some type of approved board. The International practitioners of holistic medicine specialise in offering alternative therapists a platform to promote independent healers, therapist, counsellors, spiritual workers, etc worldwide.
Get Insured - If you are working with the public then you will need to obtain some sort of public liability insurance. Some insurance providers now specialise in offering insurance particularly to complimentary therapists and light-workers.
Get Social - Getting social is easy now and you may already have your own Facebook page, Instagram or other social media pages, but now is the time to set up some new pages dedicated to your therapies. After all you do not want future clients seeing your posts from your personal Facebook page if you want to maintain a professional manner. Learn how to set up a new Facebook page.
Keep Learning - There are always lots of new things and skills to learn to keep you on top of your game and keeping your knowledge of complimentary therapies up to date is no different. Many aromatherapists or massage therapists for instance find that clients would also be happy to have a crystal healing treatment or reiki session with them if offered. Hairdressers have found clients will pay extra if an Indian head massage is offered. These are all great tools to add to your existing talents. A professional Holistic Therapist has a good knowledge of various therapies. Be one of them...
If you would like to add to your knowledge then why not take a course on the go - these are great low cost courses in holistic, spiritual and complementary therapies. A great way to learn and sure to help increase your revenue.
